Morning Minute

As I sat watching the fireworks with my kids last night, God reminded me of a time when I experienced deep disappointment attempting to do the exact same thing more than 20 years ago.


A previous boyfriend and I made plans to watch the fireworks at the Riverwalk downtown. We got there early to ensure we had the perfect spot, but just before they began he insisted we head back to the car. We heard the sound of each one, but couldn’t see any of them over the height of the buildings around us.

God showed me how in this moment, He was redeeming my previous disappointment. It was an amazing reminder of how deeply He truly loves us. He took something seemingly insignificant and exchanged pain for restoration. I can’t think of a better way to start off a New Year. I pray that you experience that same restorative love of God in your life.
