Romans 6 verses 5, 10 says, “For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.” “The death he died, he died to sin once and for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.” NIV

When we choose to give our lives to God, we are essentially dying to sin so that we may find life in Christ. As verse 10 said, “He died to sin once and for all;” however, for us, that is a daily, sometimes hourly choice we are required to make.

Verse 13 tell us to “offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. Romans 12 begins with the instruction to “offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God.”

Have you sacrificed your life of sin? Are there times you have chosen to cling to things of this life instead of letting them go and fully clinging to the Father? We have to put to death our old ways of living before we can walk in a new life of righteousness with Christ. Are you ready?

John 12:24-36 NLT

“I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels – a plentiful harvest of new lives.

Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity.

Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.”
